Ça assure !

C'est un amis qui me disait récemment:
" Faire des enfants, c'est prendre une assurance contre la connerie ".

Sleeping Bags

What a fantastic invention the baby sleeping bag is. I was very reluctant to buy one on aesthetic grounds but EVERYBODY told me they were an essential item. I relented once it started getting really cold and I was tired of constantly tucking in. When I first put him in it, I was reminded of one of those knitted doll toilet roll hoders, but it's not really about how it looks is it. The fact is that it's very practical, keeps him toasty and warm even when he spins 180' in his cot. My only question is - what about his arms and hands which feel like little cubes of ice???

On the move

Suddenly there's lots of movement - kicking, rolling over and a strange kind of squirming as a prelude to crawling.

Working Mum

Do all mums cry when on their first day back at work? It just felt like the end of a very special period in our lives.

Finally...

I haven't written in my boy's journal for some time, but the joy at having a good night's sleep last night has prompted me to scribble something down. After three months of bad sleep, little Ilan has started sleeping in long stretches again and it has had such an impact on life in general - he's got a better appetite, he's napping well and he has parents with smiles on their faces instead of bags under their eyes!

Sommeil

Quatre éléphants, un âne et une grenouille dans un berceau. Et l'on s'interroge encore pourquoi Ilan a du mal à s'endormir?

Food

I'm so chuffed that the eating is going well. The little man just adores his teaspoons of banana now and would certainly eat more if he could. Yesterday, I introduced him to a new taste - avocado. He was a little bit suspicious of it at first and a little disappointed at its lack of sweetness, but he still managed to eat a teaspoon full and seemed a convert by the end of the session.
